PMscreen Technology
There is increasing pressure on utilities to collect fine particulate matter in the exhaust gas of coal-fired utility boilers. With the pending MACT regulations, as well as, changes to the new source review provision and its possible impact relative to mercury control, make cost effective methods of moderate particulate control an attractive prospect for existing coal-fired utility boilers. With the number of units in the U.S. utility fleet equipped with electrostatic precipitators, a technology that could be retrofit without need for major construction or retooling would be ideally suited to help the industry meet these pending regulations.
